Sample set of the basic latin character set for the font Ardnree.

Ardnaree is our latest release from the designomatt’s Foundry and its name is another nod to our Irish Ancestors and the area from which we hail in County Mayo.

Type Sample Title Card for new font family Ardnaree. It has a Fender Nocaster on the left side, with samples of the font in regular, bold, light, and italicized versions listing some titles of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band songs: 4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy), Darkness on the Edge of Town, The E Street Shuffle, Candy's Room, Rosalita (Come out Tonight), Spirit in the Night, Darkness on the Edge of Town, My Father's House, If I Should Fall Behind, and Born to Run. The type sits on a background that matches the blond wood of the guitar and the type is a bright red.

Working with a sample from 1918 in the book Lettering for Commercial Purposes, by Wm. Hugh Gordon, we worked to modernize and expand the font to encompass a completed extended Latin character set. The font comes in a regular width in a few weights and slopes: regular, italic, light, bold, light italic, and bold italic.

Although, Ardnaree at its heart it is a decorative font, it is quite suitable for typesetting; especially for emphasis when paired with a complementary font, like our own Breaffy.
