Breaffy

Breaffy is the newest font from our foundry and represents a modern refinement on an oldstyle type. Inspired by the Cloister Oldstyle, we worked to modernize and expand the basic character set.

Named after the village our Irish ancestors hailed from, we began modernizing the classic oldstyle glyphs. Working with these core glyphs, we created and expanded the family into a complete extended Latin set with alternates as well as a sampling of ligatures and Welsh characters.

The focus on Breaffy was to create a serif that would be used as our own design studio’s selected serif family. At present there are Regular, Condensed, and Extended versions with a total of 18 fonts in the family. Breaffy is perfectly suite for everyday correspondence as well as use in design projects for logos, branding, and motion work.
