Title card for the font "Cara" showing 3D golden text: Cara, Serif Sans Serif

Cara is our latest release from the designomatt’s Foundry. Cara means friend in Irish and is fitting for a font that was inspired by a sample from a book that was meant to inspire the creative community of the early 20th Century.

Upper case and alternate glyph samples of the font "Cara".

In updating and modernizing the font, we initially created the family as a Sans Serif font by designing a complete extended Latin character set, complete with new alternates, ligatures, and Welsh characters. From there, we built back out the Serif version, to reflect the original intent of the sample.

The family is mainly designed for decorative uses in posters, prints, etc. but is quite legible and readable in small bursts of typeset copy to enhance any project. It’s heritage is derived from the Art Nouveau movement but that can be extended to any modern design purpose for today’s creative professional.

Long typeset display of the font "Cara" in sans serif. The font is gibberish, "Lorem ipsum", to show the use of the font in long-form typography.

Like all all of our fonts in partnership with Monotype come with multilingual support and you can buy Cara today, as well as our others releases from designomatt’s page at MyFonts. And as a launch special, for the next 30 days, ending November 9,  it is 30% off.
