Aoife is a font family inspired by a sample found in a 1914 book entitled “Art Alphabets and Lettering” by J.M. Bergling. It is a tremendous book with amazing samples of typography that were being used across publications of that era.
Aoife, is Irish for beautiful, radiant, or joyful, and is built with letterforms and glyphs that are decorative but also readable for headlines as well as typeset segments of text. And although it can be easily read in typeset, much of its impact will most likely be had when it is used in headlines, logos, and other decorative uses for brands and campaigns.
This family is our first to include not only the extended Latin set but Welsh characters as alternates on select glyphs as well.
Aoife is now available on our MyFonts page.
