Portrait of the great Ian McKellen, in his iconic role of Gandalf as originally performed in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
As often occurs, the initial portrait may only be a step towards a larger goal. As I worked through the illustration, I also concepted a simplified alternative movie poster for The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Rings film to be shared among my social sites and poster communities.
These pieces were created using an array of custom brushes, textures, and techniques in Corel Painter, Procreate, and Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
